14. 11. 2008 Kowloon (Hong kong)

Seven-hour flight brought us the end of the Asian world ...

That awakening! It 'was at that time, while flying over the countless skyscrapers of this "city-state," I really realized where we were! Were landed at the air park of the East and Oceania: Air China, Japan Airlines, Qantas, Air New Zealand, Dragonair, Macau Airways ... We are one step away from Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, China, Australia ...

We are in the former British colony ... And the latter inherited from the double-decker bus, driving to the left ... The Queen Elizabeth II, however, remains only a distant memory to track down some old U.S. cents in Hong kong ...

The first impact was very picturesque ... Majestic skyscrapers rises everywhere, some were real human hives, we could see hundreds and hundreds of small windows, and were almost like the cells that pierced these huge palaces ...

Walking along the famous Nathan Road, Edinburgh seemed to be in a Asian, but if you slipped into one of the many alleys then suddenly materialized a Vietnam China, hundreds of stalls selling the most useless junk to copies of the best brands of everything ...

Impression that those great streets of thousands of kids who walked, talked, giggled, laughed and did mess everywhere ...
The silence there was and there was only a perpetual background noise that eventually became deafening!

As expected there were thousands of shops that sells the latest technology and when we asked if they had a gig memory for a camera you are looking at us laughed like cavemen, "At best, the smallest is 4 Giga!

15. 11. 2008 Hong kong Island (Hong kong)

When traveling it seems that the days do not end up ever! Exit the early morning, a little 'sleepy, and return late at night, often for a quick shower and then go out again!

Nick and I have fun and we made merry everywhere, even places like Doha anonymous may leave room for memories, let alone a city that never sleeps like Hong kong!

The day today, full immersion in the bustling place, begins with a visit to Tin Hau Temple. Strong scents, bright colors, the incense that envelops you, the fruit offered to the gods ...

I watched those elderly women who lit incense sticks and prayed ... and prayed ... we thought! I, as usual, I stood on the sidelines, thinking, wondering what was strange world ...
A few days before in Doha saw those Arabs with long beards that would have made killing in the name of their God (perhaps not those of Qatar, more interested in money than anything else) and here, in the Taoist Temple, who gave up their food for offering it to the statues ...

We visit the flower market and then Yeun Po Street and its market of birds! Extravagant see sellers of locusts ... How disgusting!!

After a long journey finally we reach the Temple Sik Sik Yeun Wong Tai Sin. " United to three religions: Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism; famous here because each question is answered and every wish is fulfilled.
The striking thing is that people took a jar containing wooden sticks numbered inginocchiatisi before the various deities and made the request or expressed desire began to shake the can so long till he fell by the same stick, the corresponding number was the answer! Responsible for reading the many soothsayers were grazing outside the temple. We, too, we tried it and I have fallen three poles (31, 25 and 92), but they are not going to ask Nostradamus, my destiny I find out from me!

From here, with the very efficient subway that goes 70 meters under the sea and you can always use your phone, we go to another island to meet Penelope, a correspondent of my seat!
Upon our request takes us on a typical restaurant, one of those where only eat them, with menus written only in Chinese, with dishes for our Western palate: the typical bad but the place has paid off hunger suffered ...

Around the financial center we find a nice Italian girl: Raffaela, here for an exhibition in which it participated cosmetics company for which he worked ... What a strange Italian woman here ... Despite initial skepticism, we welcome our group and spend a pleasant afternoon wandering around the many streets of the city!

In the evening, returning to the hotel, I sneak into one of the many spots where they had karaoke! Customers were performing on a stage singing real songs ... The Chinese are keen to karaoke!
